Niramaya aims to provide healthcare services to citizens at their doorstep, with special focus on mother and child to bridge the gap between target and actual delivery. Its intention is to ensure 100% registration and vaccination of mother/ children and for attaining that goal, vaccination status of every child is tracked by district authorities and other parties concerned.
Niramaya caters to both safe motherhood and child survival components of Reproductive Child Health (RCH). For the former, it focuses on early registration of pregnancy, Ante Natal Care (ANC), Post Natal Care (PNC) and emphasizes on 100% immunization for the latter. With these objectives, it uses modern ICT techniques for digital health mapping and pregnancy tracking. It therefore, prepares a complete health database with respect to the target group i.e. pregnant/ lactating mothers and children in immunization age group. The database so generated forms the backbone through which a software system suo-moto generates automated SMSs and OBD/IBD calls on all aspects of children immunization, ANC, PNC, safe delivery, pulse-polio campaign etc, on cell phone thereby ensuring health care of the entire family at their doorstep. Having full knowledge of one’s family health profile, citizens can be more informed and empowered to avail the required health facilities. Besides this, in the project it’s also planned to have an interactive platform (IVRS) wherein a citizen can enquire about various health parameters, and lodge a complaint on a given helpline number.
This project uses information technology for ensuring delivery of full spectrum of healthcare and immunization services to pregnant women and children up to 5 years of age. It is to facilitate and monitor service delivery as well as to establish a two way communication between the service providers and beneficiaries. Generation of work plans of ANMs, sending regular alerts to the service providers as well as beneficiaries about the services due and a user-friendly dash board for health managers at various levels to monitor delivery of services will go a long way in ensuring quality service delivery, micro birth planning, ensuring universal immunization and will have positive impact on important health indicators like Infant Mortality Rate and Maternal Mortality Ratio. It also helps in evidence based planning and continuous assessment of service delivery to pregnant women and children.
It involves synergy of both human as well as digital stakeholders for achieving the objective of full immunization coverage. The ASHA/ ANM workers register every pregnant woman and new born child into the system based on their field surveys. The electronic interface allows the beneficiary, the village or district level public representative, local people etc. to inform the authorities over telephone on the left-outs for their timely registration.
Real time reports for monitoring and performance tracking are available to all stakeholders. The data so generated is used for various improvements in health system like better planning and coordination, increased service uptake, thereby ensuring efficient monitoring of service delivery.
Children are the future of any nation in this world. India is no exception to this golden rule of thumb. Keeping this in mind, every generation that takes control of the nation’s progress, maneuvers it into the future needs to ensure that some steps are taken towards the betterment of the children of the country. The underweight children covered in ICDS project are provided one bag of proper nutrition every month on 5th, 15th & 25th. The children who are severely malnutrition are providing five bags in one month. Niramaya comes to ensure nutrition reaches the right child. SMS/ Outbound/ Inbound calls facility fulfill this task. The data of such children provided by District Programme Officer is now linked with MCTS database in Niramaya.
